Marina Agafonova is a Russian-born, ever-evolving artist whose favorite mediums include oils, acrylic, gold leaf, and modeling paste. Inspired by nature and flowers in her garden, she loves preserving the memories of lilac booms, white poppies, cherry blossoms, pink peonies, and blue irises with her brushes or capturing the colors of skies and forests she sees during walks or drives.
Her love of art started as a child; at school, she could often be found drawing flowers or dolls instead of working on class assignments. After pursuing a degree in Hospitality management and starting a family, she began formal study of art under the direction of renowned Russian artist Irina Filonova. Having moved to the U.S. in 2008, Marina lives in Elkridge, Maryland with her husband and two children. She is currently fascinated by the way art transforms spaces and is interested in creating art that enhances the coziness and beauty of interiors through complimentary shapes and colors.
